SOCIAL INTERVENTIONS

1. Pastoral Ministry

We provide our help and service in the pastoral ministry of 5 different dioceses in Tanzania. Every year we have number of baptisms, marriages and confirmations in these parishes. By emphasizing the importance of the Holy Eucharist in Christian life in all our parishes we teach and promote special devotion to the Eucharistic Lord which is the core of Christian life.

CHAMA CHA MARAFIKI WA EKARISTI (Association of the friends of the Eucharist): This is an initiative by MCBS Fathers with the support of the Bishop in the Archdiocese of Dodoma to enhance devotion to the Eucharistic Lord. This is a pious association of the Lay faithful in the Archdiocese of Dodoma who live a life that is very close to the Eucharistic Lord and helping people to grow in faith and devotion in the Holy Eucharist. They are being taught, guided and trained to have deep relation to the Holy Eucharist by MCBS Fathers and they support priests in their own parishes and in the diocese of Dodoma in services like distributing Holy Qurbana for the sick, to giving awareness to the people and help them in receiving the Sacraments, especially Holy Mass Anointing of the Sick and Confession.

2.Drinking Water

One of our prime concerns is drinking water. Our water sources dry up during summer and people have to walk miles to get drinking water. So we were trying these years with the help of the Little way association and Manos Unidas to provide drinking water through digging as many open wells and rain water harvesting tanks for all denominations of people and animals.

Most of the residents of this region are badly affected with the issue of scarcity of pure water

3. Agriculture

Every year we provide fertilizers and seeds at the beginning of rainy season to more than 450 families and each year we expand our service to more families.

4.Revolving funds for Women and Children.

Every year we provide around USD 25,000 for providing helps in small scale industries and as study helps for students starting from preprimary to university level. Priority is given to orphans and unwed mothers which is very common here.

5. Evening Tuition program

Education is one of our prime concerns in African mission since apart from educated people there can’t be any development. So we are providing supplementary education for 2350 village kids in 10 government schools in Mathematics, English and Science.

6.Midday meal

As our answer to the cry for food and nutrition we provide midday meals for 6120 children every day in 12 government schools near to our mission so that students get nutrition and are encouraged to attend school.

7.Food supply to the elderly and abandoned

Through our parishes we provide food kits to 120 families every month.

8.House construction

We have so far helped 118 families to build small house with three rooms for the poor and homeless.

9.Lamb, chicken and piggery

Through our initiatives we have so far provided 5200 chickens, 132 lambs and 64 piglets to the women groups and our initiatives in the social and educational sectors have proved successful as we can see the difference after we stepped in.

10. A Home for the children who are abandoned

Another important dream of the MCBS Fathers is to build a home for children in Tanzania who are orphaned, abandoned, or lack proper parental care. Despite our emphasis on Holy Eucharist and Eucharistic love in preaching and life, the cry for love and care from these children disturbs us deeply. Therefore, we plan to empower them by establishing a shelter and providing quality education. This village, located in the peripheries of Dodoma, specifically in Nala and Mbuyuni, will ensure that these children receive the nurturing care they need from trained caretakers who will act as surrogate parents. This initiative aims to impart moral and value-based education, along with proper monitoring, support, and psychological assistance to help these children face various challenges and thrive.

The proposed land at Nala and the drawing of our dream project
  1. Vision of a Home for Children: The MCBS Fathers aim to establish a village in Dodoma, specifically in Nala and Mbuyuni, where orphaned and abandoned children can find a loving and supportive home environment.
  2. Quality Education: Alongside providing shelter, the focus is on offering these children a high standard of education. This education is not only academic but also aims to instill moral values and virtues, ensuring a holistic development.
  3. Caretakers as Parent Figures: Trained caretakers will play a crucial role in these children’s lives, acting as surrogate parents. Their presence is intended to provide the love, care, and guidance that every child needs for healthy emotional and psychological development.
  4. Empowerment through Support: The project emphasizes empowering these children by offering not just basic necessities like shelter and education, but also psychological support. This support is crucial for helping them navigate their circumstances and build resilience.
  5. Foundation in Faith: Rooted in the principles of Holy Eucharist and Eucharistic love, the initiative seeks to show these children their inherent worth and importance in the eyes of God, reinforcing their sense of dignity and value.
  6. Impact on the Periphery: By locating the village in the peripheries of Dodoma, the project aims to reach areas where resources and support for orphaned children may be scarce, but at the same time it is not that too far from the populated area where resources are available and to thereby making a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Overall, this initiative not only addresses the immediate needs of orphaned and abandoned children but also lays the groundwork for their long-term success and well-being.
