Roho Mtakatifu Kanisa la Katoliki, Lindi
On 24th March 2024, as per the will of the Eucharistic Lord we have begun our new mission parish in the diocese of Lindi which is one of the most economically interior side of Tanzania. It was a blooming area of faith during the olden days with the presence of the Europeans as it has seashores but it is in the state of diminishing the glory after Germans left the country and Arabs forcefully captured the control and made conversions.
As per the invitation of the Eucharistic Lord through the Bishop Wolfgang Pisa MCBS Fathers Fr. Francis Palammoottil and Fr. Amal Kappilumackal reached in KILANGALA parish as the pioneer missionaries in the Diocese of Lindi from our congregation. The diocese is starving with the scarcity of the priests and therefore the faithful does not get the proper concern and care of the catholic church. The people in Lindi are having mixed communities like many religions within a family and this challenges much on the eucharistic missionaries. The grace of God is above all and HE guides our priests in all the limited facilities and to work for the upliftment of the faithfuls. There are almost Fifteen station churches under the Kilangala parish and around 1850 catholic faithfuls. MCBS Fathers burn their midnight oil to raise the church to the structure of a normal functioning parish like in other parts of Tanzania and to gather the faithful around the altar.
